Quick answer

Rockstar shadowdropped the 90-second GTA VI launch trailer on Oct 15, 2026 — all in-game footage on a base PS5. It reveals Jason Duval's disgraced Army exit, a prison call from Lucia, and debuts Justice's "Flower in a Hurricane" (Tame Impala, SZA, King Gizzard). The Album is up for pre-save and vinyl/CD pre-order.

The final trailer is here. Rockstar Games shadowdropped the launch trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI on October 15, 2026 with no prior announcement — a 90-second cinematic cut, captured entirely in-game on a base PlayStation 5 (not the PS5 Pro), landing five weeks before the game's November 19 launch.

The trailer is story-first, and it fills in one of the biggest gaps in what we knew about Jason Duval. Over a "Welcome to The Keys" sign and aerial shots of Brian's Marina, Jason says in voice-over that his time in the Army ended badly — "didn't leave on the best of terms" — and that it still counts against him when he tries to get his life back on track. Rockstar's official bio had said Jason did "a stint in the Army trying to shake off his troubled teens" before winding up in the Keys working for local drug runners; the trailer confirms the stint ended in disgrace and it's still following him.

The marina scenes show a different-looking Jason — full beard, longer hair, backwards cap — buffing a boat hull and working on a speedboat in the shed beside Cal Hampton. Then the call comes: an automated message — "This is a free call from Lucia Caminos" — placing the two already in contact before Lucia's release from Leonida prison.

The music is the other headline. The trailer debuts "Flower in a Hurricane," a new Justice single featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard — released the same day. Rockstar says the French electronic duo of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay also composed the game's original score, and the track leads Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album — up for pre-save on streaming services and pre-order on vinyl and CD.

This is the third official trailer, following the December 2023 debut (Tom Petty's "Love Is a Long Road") and the May 2025 follow-up (The Pointer Sisters' "Hot Together"). No gameplay systems are shown — expect ads and TV spots, but this reads as the final trailer of the campaign.

Grand Theft Auto VI launches November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The PC release date remains unconfirmed.
